So I’ve bought a VPS, for instance, “helloworld.com”, and I simply completed getting WHM configured (internet hosting website one way or the other forgot to setup my nameserver information). I attempted to create a cPanel account for me to make use of and set up the discussion board, however it says

Chances are you’ll not create a website with a reputation that’s the server’s hostname.

So do I’ve to make the cPanel account a subdomain? One thing like admin.helloworld.com?

Sometimes when organising the VPS, you’ll use a subdomain because the hostname (i.e. server1.helloworld.com), not your area title (helloworld.com).

If that’s how you might be setup, you will want to vary the hostname.

cPanel has an choice for that in WHM, so it is not too tough.
